Plot summary
Shane Daniels, an ex-Special Forces soldier in Arizona, is cleared by new DNA evidence after six years in prison for a killing he did not commit. The state apologizes and pays him a settlement. Hours after his release he stops for a bottle of bourbon, fights off two robbers and drives out of the city. At a highway rest stop, two Chinese men kill a state trooper and turn on two witnesses, a young man named Sergey and his friend Markov. Shane intervenes and one attacker flees into the desert. Checking the dead trooper, he hears noise from the trunk of the attackers' car. Inside are Tia, unconscious, and a duffel bag of cash. He takes her and Sergey to the town of Bellingham, where Tia says she was kidnapped while trying to bring her uncle Kuan into the country.
