Rebecca De Mornay

Rebecca De Mornay is an American actress with more than 60 film and television credits. Born in Santa Rosa, California, she was selling songs to German rock musicians as a teenager and wrote the theme for Goodbye Bruce Lee: His Last Game of Death (1975). She returned to the United States in 1980 to study at the Lee Strasberg Institute, and her first screen work was a small part in One from the Heart (1981) before her star-making turn in Risky Business (1983). In 1985 she played the title part in The Slugger's Wife and appeared in The Trip to Bountiful and in Runaway Train, two films that earned several Academy Award nominations. Her later films include And God Created Woman (1988), Backdraft (1991), The Hand That Rocks the Cradle (1992), Wedding Crashers (2005) and Mother's Day (2010). She also played Wendy Torrance in The Shining (1997) and Trish Walker's mother in Jessica Jones from 2015 to 2019.
