Plot summary
Jennifer Haines is a Chicago attorney who has just won a big case. David Greenhill, a ladies' man she noticed in the gallery of her last trial, asks her to defend him against a charge of murdering his wealthy wife, Rita. She declines at first, then decides the high-profile trial is worth taking. Greenhill says he is innocent, but his erratic behavior makes her uneasy, and he begins appearing in her social life and hinting at a closeness between them. Phil Garson, the man in her life, wants her off the case. She has her investigator Moe look into Greenhill's past.
