Plot summary
Joel Goodsen is a high school senior in Glencoe, on Chicago's North Shore, whose father wants him to attend Princeton, his own alma mater, and sets up an interview with one of its admissions officers. Joel worries about his SAT scores and about Future Enterprisers, an activity where student teams create small businesses. When his parents leave on a trip, his friend Miles urges him to enjoy himself. Miles arranges a visit from Jackie, an escort, and Joel pays him to leave and takes the number of Lana, another escort.
