Biography

An American actor, director and writer, Leland Orser has built a broad screen career from stage beginnings. Born in San Francisco, he studied acting at Drama Studio London. On stage he received a Helen Hayes Award nomination for best supporting actor for The Secret Rapture in 1991, the same year he made his television debut on Gabriel's Fire. His television work included guest roles on Cheers and The X-Files. He played Dr. Arthur Zeller on The Outer Limits in 1999 and later took the recurring role of Chief of Surgery Lucien Dubenko on ER from 2004 to 2009. In film, he played a crazed man in Seven and Larry Purvis in Alien Resurrection (1997). He was the antagonist Richard Thompson in The Bone Collector (1999) and later played Wesley Owen Welch in Daredevil (2003). He appeared as Sam Gilroy across the three Taken films, released from 2008 to 2014, and made his directing debut with Morning in 2010.
