Plot summary
Malone used to work as a private eye and now hires out his gun to whoever pays. His latest job is to walk into a building packed with armed mobsters and come out with a suitcase. The shootout that follows leaves him the only survivor, and the case holds one item worth noticing, a small painted animal nicknamed the meaning of love. Malone keeps it instead of handing it over. Several groups working for Whitmore, a local gangster, then pursue Malone, each trying to discern what the case's contents mean, and Whitmore's hoodlums and hired thugs come at him in a series of violent encounters.
