Leif Erickson was born on October 27, 1911 in Alameda, California, USA as William Y. Wycliffe Anderson. He was an actor, known for The High Chaparral (1967), On the Waterfront (1954) and Invaders from Mars (1953). He was married to Ann Diamond, Margaret Hayes and Frances Farmer. He died on January 29, 1986 in Pensacola, Florida, USA.

Before acting, Leif Erickson worked as a soloist in a band, singing and playing trombone, and also performed in Max Reinhardt's productions.

Erickson began with two 1933 band films opposite Betty Grable. He then appeared in a run of Westerns with Buster Crabbe, all based on Zane Grey novels.
