Scary Movies on Netflix for Halloween 2026
The scary movies on Netflix in the United States for Halloween 2026, the best of them first.
NetflixMovies.com Checked on
Halloween means a long night with the lights off, and the horror films waiting on Netflix in the United States are made for it. Fear runs through every one of them, though not in the same shape twice. Some wear it as comedy, some as science fiction, and a few prefer to keep the room quiet and let the unease do the work. Old and new sit side by side here, and the older ones have not loosened their hold. Ralph Fiennes turns up in three of them, which suits the season.
Every film is on Netflix in the United States, and the order runs on audience score, with more weight given to the ones thousands of people have rated.
Psycho is the place to start. Alfred Hitchcock sets Anthony Perkins behind the desk of the Bates Motel, where a secretary who has driven off with money that was not hers stops for a night out of the rain. Janet Leigh and Vera Miles are in the cast, and the welcome is polite in a way that never quite settles.
Ridley Scott goes the other way with Alien, where a commercial tug bound for Earth answers a signal and finds something waiting. Sigourney Weaver, Tom Skerritt and Veronica Cartwright crew the ship.
Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein arrives with Oscar Isaac, Jacob Elordi and Christoph Waltz, and with a surgeon convinced that science can cure death. Expelled for his methods, he takes an arms merchant's money and an isolated tower and gets to work.
