Trailer

Plot summary

In October 1830 at West Point, Cadet Leroy Fry is found hanged, his heart taken from the body. The military brings in Augustus Landor, a retired detective, to look into the death. Dr. Daniel Marquis, who examines the corpse, says the cadet was murdered rather than a suicide. In Fry's hand Landor finds a fragment of a note, and he asks a fellow cadet, Edgar Allan Poe, to help. The two work out that the note called Fry to a secret meeting. Animals are found killed with their hearts removed, and a ritual is suspected.
