Plot summary
Joe Valencia is a comedian and actor in Los Angeles known for a beer commercial catchphrase. He is a single father to Junior, and his work often comes before his son. His agent Nick gets him a sitcom audition, but the producer turns the part stereotypical once he learns Joe is half-Filipino. The audition also makes Joe miss a meeting at Junior's school with his teachers. To make up for it, Joe brings Junior along to Daly City for his family's Easter Sunday weekend. There he reconnects with his mother Susan, his sister Regina, and a house full of aunts, uncles and cousins, among them Eugene, who has money troubles. The family goes to church.
