Jim Morrison comes to Wayne in a dream and tells him his destiny is to organize a music festival. The pair name it Waynestock and bring in Del Preston, a former roadie, to help. Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Wayne's World 2 (1993)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Mike Myers' original script for Wayne's World 2 had Wayne and Garth seceding from the US after finding an ancient scroll, taken from the 1949 British comedy Passport to Pimlico. Production was halted when the studio realized it had not secured the rights, and executive Sherry Lansing threatened to ruin Myers' career unless he wrote a new script.
- Penelope Spheeris, who directed the first Wayne's World, believes Mike Myers pushed the studio to drop her from the sequel over personality conflicts on the first film; Stephen Surjik replaced her, and she directed The Beverly Hillbillies instead.
- Kim Basinger turned down her part in Wayne's World 2 until Dana Carvey refused to take no for an answer; after reading the script, her then-husband Alec Baldwin told her she must be in the film.
- Ralph Brown's Del Preston is an extension of his Danny character from the cult film Withnail and I; the part was a late addition to the Wayne's World 2 script after Dana Carvey saw a repertory screening of Withnail and I in Los Angeles.
- Kim Basinger said she thought she would be fired from Wayne's World 2 because she could not keep a straight face working with Dana Carvey, and never looked into his eyes.
