Daveigh Chase

Biography

Daveigh Chase was an American actress who started as a child and became known for both live-action horror and animated voice work. Raised in part in Oregon, she began with local talent shows and minor television roles before her breakout as Samantha Darko in Donnie Darko (2001). In 2002 she voiced Lilo Pelekai in Lilo & Stitch (2002), winning the Annie Award for outstanding voice acting, and played Samara Morgan in The Ring (2002), which earned her the MTV Movie Award for best villain. She reprised Lilo for Stitch! The Movie (2003) and Leroy & Stitch (2006), and returned as Samantha in S. Darko (2009). On television she was a main presence on the HBO drama Big Love, and she appeared in films such as Jack Goes Home (2016) before retiring from acting that year.
