Plot summary

Kate Parks has spent a year on the road promoting her book about the attempts to cover up the plane crash that killed her husband. She boards a flight home to her fifteen-year-old daughter, Samantha, wanting only to be back with her. A powerful solar flare hits the aircraft, killing the pilot and knocking the co-pilot unconscious, and every electronic system on board fails. With the plane flying blind and panic spreading through the cabin, Kate works alongside flight attendant Jake Ross to steady the passengers. She looks for some way to reach air traffic control from an aircraft whose systems have failed.
