Eugene Levy
Biography
Eugene Levy is a Canadian actor and comedian who came up through the Second City troupe in Toronto and the sketch series SCTV, where he played flustered, nerdy characters such as news anchor Earl Camembert. He became a frequent collaborator of Christopher Guest, co-writing and appearing in Waiting for Guffman (1996), Best in Show (2000), A Mighty Wind (2003) and For Your Consideration (2006); his sympathetic turn as folksinger Mitch Cohen in A Mighty Wind brought a Satellite Award, a supporting-actor prize from the New York Film Critics Circle and a Grammy for the film's title song. He also appeared in National Lampoon's Vacation (1983), Splash (1984), Serendipity (2001) and the American Pie films, and voiced roles in Over the Hedge (2006) and Finding Dory (2016). From 2015 to 2020 he co-created and starred as Johnny Rose in Schitt's Creek, winning a Primetime Emmy in 2020.
