Plot summary
In Detroit, a federal armory is robbed and an ATF agent is killed, and his partner, Agent Derrick Vann, falls under suspicion of having helped. To clear his name, Vann arranges a buy at a diner, where a copy of USA Today is to mark him out. Dental supply salesman Andy Fiddler, in town for a conference, is reading the same paper. Gun trafficker Joey Kane hands him a bag meant for Vann, containing a cell phone and a pistol. Andy pulls the gun out, a waitress panics, and Vann arrests him before he works out what Joey did. When Joey calls the phone to demand $20,000, Vann needs Andy to make the drop.
