Plot summary
The cast of Home for Purim, a drama about a Jewish family in the 1940s American South, includes Marilyn Hack as the family's dying matriarch, Victor Allen Miller, a veteran actor who now works as a kosher hot dog mascot, as her husband, and Callie Webb as their daughter, who returns home with her girlfriend. Brian Chubb, who is dating Webb, plays the son. The director favors strange camera shots, the producer is an heiress to a diaper service, and the screenwriters disagree with the director about the film's Southern setting and its Jewish references. An anonymous post on the internet then calls one performance Oscar-worthy, word spreads that Hack, Miller and Webb could be nominated, and each of them begins fixating on the award.
