Plot summary
Kate Carson, a magazine reporter, visits the university to write about its cloning research and interviews Max Fleming, the graduate student who has built the machine for his boss, Dr. Jonas. During the interview Kate cuts herself, and drops of her blood mix with a cloning sample. That night Max tests the machine and produces an adult duplicate of Kate, with no knowledge of the world, whom he calls Repli-Kate. He and his roommate Henry decide to educate her from a male perspective, hoping to turn her into the beer-drinking, sports-loving woman of their dreams. She becomes Max's girlfriend.
