Charles Arnt
Biography
Charles Arnt was an American actor who appeared as a character player in more than 200 films between 1933 and 1962. He was born in Michigan City, Indiana, and went to Phillips Academy and Princeton University, where he took part in founding the University Players and led the Princeton Triangle Club, the school's theatrical troupe. After graduating he first worked in banking. In the early 1930s he performed with the University Repertory Theater in Maryland, and he later appeared on Broadway in Carry Nation (1932), Three Waltzes (1937) and Knickerbocker Holiday (1938). He retired from acting in 1962, turned to raising Charolais cattle on a Washington state ranch, and died in 1990.
