Adam Arkin

Biography

Adam Arkin is an American actor and director who was born in Brooklyn. In 1977 he starred as Lenny Markowitz in Busting Loose, and he later became best known for playing Aaron Shutt on Chicago Hope, a role that brought four SAG ensemble nominations. His other television work includes a recurring part as the paranoid Adam on Northern Exposure, an Emmy-nominated guest turn on Frasier, and roles on The West Wing, Life, and Sons of Anarchy. His film credits include Hitch (2005) and Halloween H20: 20 Years Later (1998). Arkin has also directed many series, including Grey's Anatomy, Ally McBeal, Justified, and Fargo, and won a Daytime Emmy for the television film My Louisiana Sky. He received a Tony nomination for I Hate Hamlet and has voiced Meriwether Lewis for Ken Burns on The Voyage of the Corps of Discovery.

Adam Arkin won a Daytime Emmy in 2002 for directing the children's television special My Louisiana Sky, a turn behind the camera rather than in front of it.
