William Sanderson
Biography
Born in Memphis, Tennessee, William Sanderson is an American actor who retired from acting in 2020. He appeared in several science fiction films, including The Rocketeer (1991) as one of the mechanics, and he played the timid inventor J. F. Sebastian in Blade Runner (1982). On television he was known for Larry on Newhart from 1982 to 1990, E. B. Farnum on Deadwood from 2004 to 2006 and its later film continuation, and Sheriff Bud Dearborne on True Blood from 2008 to 2010 and in 2012. He also voiced the Batman: The Animated Series character Dr. Karl Rossum, starred in Fight for Your Life (1977), and played Dewey in Crossfire Trail (2001). In 2019 he released an autobiography, Yes, I'm That Guy, and he announced his retirement the following year.
