Plot summary
Carter lives in Louisville, and his dating life keeps going wrong. The women he takes out end up with the rude, obnoxious men instead of him. His best friend Pat and his step-sister Erin both say they know the cause: Carter is simply too nice. He has never taken them seriously, but when he meets Maggie, he reconsiders, because she feels like she might be the one. Maggie is tired of the boors she keeps meeting and is looking for Mr. Right, a man who will be nice to her and bring her roses. Carter has to decide whether it is time for him to start playing games.
