Shane Rimmer
Biography
Shane Rimmer was a Canadian screenwriter and actor who built most of his career in Britain, where he settled in 1959 after early work in Canada as a radio singer, disc jockey and television presenter. Cast mostly in supporting parts as North American characters, he appeared in more than 160 films and television programs. He supplied Scott Tracy's voice in the original Thunderbirds series, and he wrote for Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons and for Joe 90. His films included Dr. Strangelove (1964), Rollerball (1975) and Out of Africa (1985), and he played Commander Carter in The Spy Who Loved Me (1977). He also acted on stage for the Royal National Theatre and voiced Louie Watterson in The Amazing World of Gumball from 2014 to 2019. Rimmer died in 2019.

Rimmer worked with TV producer Gerry Anderson for many years, on Thunderbirds (1964 to 1966) among other shows, and provided the voice of Scott Tracy. He wrote the story for "Ricochet" (1966), the penultimate episode, which Tony Barwick turned into a script.
