A role that slipped away
LeParmentier auditioned for the role of Han Solo in Star Wars, and the same auditions led to his casting as the high school principal in Brian DePalma's Carrie, a part he had to give up when that film's production was delayed nine months and the role was recast to Stefan Gierasch.
A role that slipped away
For Star Wars, LeParmentier was first offered a two-line part as a Mos Eisley bureaucrat named Montross, but the character was omitted from the film before production began. The next month he was cast as Motti.
First role
After a Fringe theater production was broadcast by the BBC, LeParmentier received an Equity union membership card. His first film role came in 1974's Stardust, playing the lawyer Felix Hoffman.
Early training
LeParmentier's school drama teacher in Hollywood, Florida urged him to act professionally. He took a drama course at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, then moved to the United Kingdom in 1974.
Behind the camera
Starting in 1988, LeParmentier turned mostly to writing and producing. With Paddy Fletcher as his writing partner, he wrote for British shows such as The Bill and Boon, and in 2008 he started Three Rivers Productions.
