Serge Houde

Biography

Serge Houde is a Canadian character actor in film and television who was born in Quebec and started acting at 35, building more than 160 credits over his career. He is best known for playing the Chicago mob boss Sam Giancana in Jon Cassar's Emmy-nominated miniseries The Kennedys, opposite Tom Wilkinson and Barry Pepper, a performance GQ's Tom Carson singled out for praise. On the big screen he appeared in 50/50 (2011), a Toronto International Film Festival premiere, as the Alzheimer's-afflicted father of Joseph Gordon-Levitt's character and husband of Anjelica Huston's. He also played The Doctor in an episode of Kevin Tancharoen's web series Mortal Kombat: Legacy. His television work includes the drug kingpin David Thorpe on the CTV series Played, which earned him a 2014 Leo Award nomination, and a homeless man with Tourette's in the police drama 19-2.
