Biography

Rita Wilson is an American actress, singer, and producer who was born in Hollywood and began her screen career with a 1972 guest appearance on The Brady Bunch. She attended the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art in the 1980s. Her films include Volunteers (1985), Sleepless in Seattle (1993), Now and Then (1995), That Thing You Do! (1996), Jingle All the Way (1996), The Story of Us (1999), Runaway Bride (1999), and It's Complicated (2009). On television she took recurring parts in The Good Wife and Girls. She produced My Big Fat Greek Wedding after helping Nia Vardalos secure the movie deal, and she co-produced and acted in My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 (2016). Wilson made her Broadway debut in Chicago in 2006, later starred in Fish in the Dark, and has released albums including AM/FM, Rita Wilson, and Bigger Picture. In 2019 the Hollywood Walk of Fame gave her a star.
