Plot summary
Gloria dances at Los Angeles clubs that play 1970s and 1980s music, works an insurance office job, and keeps in touch with her two grown children, Anne and Peter. A stray cat slips into her apartment, and a neighbor upstairs yells. Divorced for nearly a decade, she meets Arnold at a club one night. He has been divorced a year, runs a paintball arena, and still pays for his ex-wife and two jobless, demanding daughters, who phone him at all hours. Gloria takes him to Peter's birthday party, where her children, her ex-husband Dustin and Dustin's wife Fiona are gathered, and Anne's pregnancy comes up, news to Dustin.
