Plot summary
A proposal is what Roger Fellner, a straight-laced politician, has in mind for the weekend he spends with his dream girl, Gwen Turley, at her family's lake house. There he meets Todd Dotchman, the potential brother-in-law. Todd is a full-time camp counselor. His sense of fun is wild, and he is pining for Roger's friendship. Todd draws Roger into fishing excursions, a water jetpack ride, and an American history-themed musical. Todd's overbearing manner threatens the plan Roger has for the weekend, and Roger tries to take a stand against the string of unfortunate events that Todd keeps bringing with him.
