John Kassir
Biography
John Kassir is an American actor and comedian from Baltimore whose career began in stand-up comedy; he won best stand-up comic on Star Search in 1985 and later studied theater at Towson State University, where he helped form a comedy troupe called Animal Crackers. He is best known for voicing the Cryptkeeper in the HBO series Tales from the Crypt, and much of his work has been in voice acting for animated shows and video games. His film credits include Pocahontas (1995), Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World (1998), An American Tail: The Treasure of Manhattan Island (1998), Pete's Dragon (2016), and The Grinch (2018). On screen he played Shemp Howard in The Three Stooges (2000) and appeared for seven years on the HBO comedy 1st & Ten. He originated Ralph in Reefer Madness on stage and in the 2005 film, and earned Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle nominations for Three Guys Naked From The Waist Down.
