Plot summary
Flora Belle Buckman is ten and reads superhero comics in a suburban town. Her father George, a failed comic book author, works at an office supply store, and her mother Phyllis, a romance novelist with writer's block, lives apart from him. When a neighbor's vacuum runs wild and swallows a squirrel, Flora brings the animal back and names him Ulysses. The squirrel taps a message onto Phyllis's typewriter, and Flora and William Spiver, her neighbor's visiting nephew, learn that he can fly. At the diner Do-Nut World, the waitress Rita finds Ulysses, and the mess that follows sends George and Flora to George's apartment. An animal control expert named Miller, demoted after a squirrel attack, sets out after him.

- Disney removed Flora & Ulysses from Disney+ on May 26, 2023 as part of the Disney+/Hulu content purge, and after backlash it was re-released digitally on Amazon Prime Video, Vudu and Google Play on September 26, 2023.
- Kate Micucci had already auditioned for the role of Rita and was cast because of her closeness with three of the film's actors, a bit of casting that reunited the cast of Disney's animated series DuckTales.
