Biography
Joanne Baron is an American actress and a teacher of the Meisner technique who was raised in Providence, Rhode Island. Her film credits include Valley Girl (1983), Joy of Sex (1984), Someone to Watch Over Me (1987), The Prince and Me (2004), Drag Me to Hell (2009), and Perfume (2001), which she also produced. On television she has had roles on Mad Men, Law & Order, The Shield, and Curb Your Enthusiasm. She was an executive producer on the television movie Profoundly Normal and a producer on Brooklyn Babylon and Allie & Me, for which she won Best Actress at the River Run Film Festival. Her stage work includes There Once Was a Girl from Pawtucket, which received two Dramalogue Awards in 1997. She has owned a studio specializing in the Meisner technique since 1975 and is artistic director of a studio in Santa Monica.
