Plot summary
Mark Corley works as a detective with the Los Angeles police. His estranged teenage son, Trent, is sitting in jail after a brawl. Mark comes to collect him and as they are leaving an alien invasion begins. A blue light takes much of the city's population up into spaceships. Mark guides survivors through the subway tunnels to escape the aliens. Audrey, who works in city transit, is among the survivors, and so is Sarge, a blind homeless man whom the blue light does not affect. Most of the human survivors with the group are killed or abducted by the aliens.
