Plot summary
An ambitious pre-med student from a Manitowoc dairy farm, Paige Morgan studies at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. In Denmark, Crown Prince Edvard avoids his royal duties and lives as a playboy. After seeing a television commercial about Wisconsin students, he tells King Haraald and Queen Rosalind that he will study in America undercover. His mother sends his majordomo along to chaperone him, and Edvard, calling himself Eddie, swears him to secrecy. At a campus bar, Eddie spots Paige working and repeats the commercial's suggestion; she answers with the drink hose and bouncers throw him out. He apologizes, and the two are paired as organic chemistry lab partners, where she warns him not to ruin her grades. Short of money, Eddie takes a job in the bar's deli section, and Paige reluctantly helps him through his first shift.
