Plot summary

Children on a field trip come upon the bodies of missing children. Their discovery leads to a small town in the West, where the mystery of the children's disappearance has bred suspicion and distrust. A reporter from the city arrives and bribes a bar owner for everything she knows. Piece by piece, a puzzle involving deception, adultery and secret bonds begins to fall into place. Those pieces are said to be the key to the children's murder.
