George Newbern
Biography
George Newbern is an American actor who grew up in North Little Rock, Arkansas, and began acting at the Arkansas Arts Center in Little Rock, playing the younger brother in Life with Father at 12. His first lead came in the 1987 Disney television film Double Switch, and from 1986 to 1992 he had a recurring part as Payne McIlroy on Designing Women. He is best known for Bryan MacKenzie in Father of the Bride (1991), which he returned to in Father of the Bride Part II (1995) and again in Father of the Bride Part 3 (ish) (2020), and for Charlie in Scandal from 2012 to 2018. He also played Neal Morris in Dadnapped (2009). As a voice actor he spent years as Superman in Justice League and other DC animation, and voiced Sephiroth in the Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts games. He also appeared in Saw VI (2009) and is a prolific narrator of audiobooks.

Newbern's performance as Mevyn Nooj in Final Fantasy X-2 impressed Square Enix developers enough that they cast him as Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts II, replacing Lance Bass.
