Plot summary
A nuclear submarine, the USS California, is found in the Atlantic with its crew dead and its missiles gone. Cyborg brings the news to the Justice League, and Diana identifies the attackers as Atlantean warriors changed by their king's trident. In Atlantis, Prince Orm and Black Manta argue with Queen Atlanna about war on the surface; Orm holds the League responsible for his father's death, while Atlanna blames Darkseid. Atlanna wants Arthur Curry, the son she could not raise, brought home, and Mera is the one she trusts with the errand. Batman and Superman look up Stephen Shin, an expert on Atlantis. Arthur, whose aquatic powers are a mystery to him, learns from a photograph and a letter that he is half-Atlantean.
