Plot summary
Matty Banks and Rachel are engaged, and the Banks family is getting ready for their wedding. The event has been delayed by COVID-19, and self-isolation restrictions mean each family member stays home. Matty organizes a video conference so the family can talk through the plans. George Banks, Nina Banks, Annie Banks, Bryan MacKenzie, Megan Banks and George Banks-MacKenzie join the call. George goes through hygiene steps with the family so that no one falls ill. As they discuss the wedding, the family realizes that no one can say how long the pandemic will last, so the event cannot be held anytime soon. Franck Eggelhoffer joins the call to go over the plans.

- Shot in July 2020 entirely remotely, with each actor filming in a room of their own home using a box of camera, lighting and sound gear the crew mailed them. Nancy Meyers directed over Zoom from her laptop with ten cameras rolling, guiding the cast through their computers and iPhones.
- Meyers had each cast member show her the rooms of their homes over Zoom so she could choose a setting that fit their character; Kieran Culkin was sent a green screen so his New York backdrop could be changed to Los Angeles.
- Meyers had sweats mailed to Steve Martin, but none matched George Banks the way she wanted, so they picked one from Martin's own collection; the actors then chose their characters' wardrobes from their personal closets.
- After decades in development hell, Nancy Meyers emailed Steve Martin proposing a Part III short that would also raise money for people without food during the pandemic, and he agreed to join the cast.
