Plot summary
Katie Coltrane works as a police detective in a city where humans and dinosaurs live side by side. Theodore Rex, a Tyrannosaurus who handles public relations for the department, has a bad feeling about a dinosaur's death and calls in. Commissioner Lynch pairs Coltrane with the dinosaur. Every dinosaur in the city was hand made, so the police trace the dead animal through a clone database, and the victim is identified as Oliver Rex. Theodore takes Coltrane to the Extinct Species Club, a dinosaur bar where the patrons drink water and breathe unfiltered air, and the dinosaurs there call humans soft skins. One dinosaur at the bar keeps approaching Coltrane.
