Plot summary
Max, a Jack Russell terrier, shares a New York City apartment with his owner Katie. While Katie is away, he spends time with the other pets in the building: Chloe the tabby cat, Mel the pug, Buddy the dachshund, and Sweet Pea the budgerigar. Katie adopts Duke, a shaggy Newfoundland, and Max, no longer the only dog in the home, resents him. Elsewhere in the city, in the drains beneath the streets, lives Snowball, a white rabbit who leads the Flushed Pets, a gang of animals abandoned by their owners who have turned against humans. Gidget, a white Pomeranian, is in love with Max.
