Plot summary
Shrek shares his swamp with Fiona and their children, and Donkey's early Christmas announcements wear on him. With Donkey pushing him, Shrek promises Fiona a special Christmas surprise, though he has never marked the holiday himself. He goes to a Far Far Away bookstore to find her a present, and the clerk there hands him a guidebook meant for village idiots. Shrek follows it, putting up decorations and picking out a tree, hoping the evening will stay quiet. Then Donkey arrives at the swamp with the whole family in tow, Puss in Boots and Gingy among them, and Shrek's plans unravel.
