Biography

Hannibal Buress is an American comedian, actor, writer and producer who began performing stand-up in 2002 while studying at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. He wrote for Saturday Night Live from 2009 to 2010, then joined the writing staff of 30 Rock in September 2010 and stayed six months, though he kept playing small characters on the show across nine episodes into 2012. Variety named him to its Ten Comics to Watch list in 2010, the year his debut album, My Name is Hannibal, came out. Animal Furnace, his second album, was released in 2012 and aired as a Comedy Central special to positive reviews, and the hourlong Hannibal Buress Live from Chicago followed on that network in 2014. He was the sidekick to Eric André on Adult Swim's The Eric Andre Show between 2012 and 2020, appeared on Broad City from 2014 to 2019, and played Coach Wilson in Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017).
