Biography
Rhona Mitra is an English actress and singer who in 1997 took on the role of Lara Croft as a live-action model for the Tomb Raider video games. Born in Paddington, London, she played Christopher Lambert's romantic interest in Beowulf (1999) and landed her first main part on Party of Five from 1999 to 2000. Roles followed in Hollow Man (2000), the medical drama Gideon's Crossing, Sweet Home Alabama (2002), The Life of David Gale (2003), Highwaymen (2004), Skinwalkers (2006), The Number 23 (2007), Shooter (2007), and as the lead in Doomsday (2008). She played Sonja in Underworld: Rise of the Lycans (2009), a performance that brought a Scream Awards nomination for Best Actress. On television she appeared in The Practice, Boston Legal, Nip/Tuck, Strike Back from 2012 to 2013, The Last Ship from 2014 to 2015, and Supergirl, and her later films include Game Over, Man! (2018), Archive (2020), Skylines (2020), and Red Sonja (2025).
