Plot summary
Two packs of werewolves live divided by principle, and the moon signals an ancient prophecy. Timothy is a half-blood nearing his thirteenth birthday, unaware that the date marks his transformation. He has grown up with his mother Rachel, his grandmother Nana, his uncle Jonas, his cousin Katherine and her boyfriend Adam, and he believes his father is dead. What Rachel and Timothy do not know is that these relatives are werewolves who have watched over him since he was born, because the prophecy says the boy can end the curse. Varek leads a second pack that keeps a hawk as an airborne scout, embraces bloodlust and rides for the town of Huguenot, where the family keeps Timothy hidden.
