Nonso Anozie
Biography
Nonso Anozie is an English actor who trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama, graduating in 2002, the same summer he played the title role in King Lear, and in 2004 he won the Ian Charleson Award for his Othello. He led the British crime drama Cass (2008) and took supporting parts in RocknRolla (2008) and Atonement, later appearing in Conan the Barbarian (2011), The Grey (2011), Ender's Game (2013) as Sergeant Dap, and Cinderella (2015). On television he played Xaro Xhoan Daxos in Game of Thrones, Renfield in Dracula (2013), and Abraham Kenyatta in Zoo from 2015 to 2017, and he voiced the role of Joe in a BBC Radio 4 production of Show Boat. He played the antagonist Red in Guava Island in 2019 and starred as Tommy Jepperd in Sweet Tooth from 2021 to 2024, winning a Children's and Family Emmy Award and a BAFTA nomination.

In 2006 Anozie was hired to voice Iorek Byrnison, the armored bear, in the film of Philip Pullman's Northern Lights. Two months before the film was to come out, Ian McKellen took his place.
