Michael Jeter
Biography
Michael Jeter was an American actor of stage and screen whose awards included a Tony and a Primetime Emmy Award. Born in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, he studied at Memphis State University, where his interest shifted from medicine to acting, and made his Broadway debut in Once in a Lifetime in 1979. He won a Tony for his portrayal of Otto Kringelein in the musical Grand Hotel, and from 1990 to 1994 he played Herman Stiles on the sitcom Evening Shade. His films included Zelig (1983), Miller's Crossing (1990), The Fisher King (1991), Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit (1993), Patch Adams (1998), The Green Mile (1999), Jurassic Park III (2001), Open Range (2003) and The Polar Express (2004). He was nominated with the cast of The Green Mile for a Screen Actors Guild Award and appeared as Mister Noodle on Sesame Street from 2000 to 2003.
