Plot summary
In Los Angeles, Nick, Dallas and Billy Hill argue with a convenience store cashier, and the dispute leaves a police officer dead. Days later, Casey, who once dealt drugs with Nick, lives in a Texas suburb with his wife and wants to convince an adoption agent that he is fit to raise a child. Nick calls to ask for a couple of days, then borrows Casey's car. Casey opens the suitcase Nick left behind and finds it packed with heroin. He gives Nick a choice, leave or be reported to the police, then puts the heroin down the garbage disposal. Nick promises to return after he finishes some business, and by late morning a hitman named Ice is at Casey's door.
