The three teach at St. Francis High School in San Francisco, the school Deloris attended as a child, and they persuade her to return with them. The Reverend Mother asks her to become Sister Mary Clarence again and teach music there, and she reluctantly agrees. Father Maurice is the principal; Mr. Crisp, the administrator, wants the school closed. Her first class expects an easy grade, and Rita Louise Watson walks out.
