Biography
Kristin Davis is an American actress and producer who is known for playing Charlotte York on HBO's Sex and the City. Born in Boulder, Colorado, and raised in South Carolina, she studied acting at Rutgers University and made her film debut in Doom Asylum (1988). Her big break came in 1995 as villainous Brooke Armstrong on Melrose Place. From 1998 to 2004 she starred as Charlotte, earning Emmy and Golden Globe nominations in 2004. She later reprised the role in Sex and the City (2008), Sex and the City 2 (2010) and the revival And Just Like That. Her other films include The Shaggy Dog (2006), Couples Retreat (2009), Journey 2: The Mysterious Island (2012) and Holiday in the Wild (2019), which she produced. She made her Broadway debut in The Best Man in 2012 and her West End debut in Fatal Attraction in 2014.

In July 2012, Davis took over for Kerry Butler in the revival of Gore Vidal's The Best Man, playing at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre. That run marked her Broadway debut.

In March 2014, Davis played Beth Gallagher in Fatal Attraction at the Theatre Royal, Haymarket, which was her first appearance in the West End.
Big break
Davis landed her big break in 1995 as the villainess Brooke Armstrong Campbell on Melrose Place, the Fox nighttime soap opera. After a year, producers decided to kill off the character, so she left the show.
