David Eigenberg

Biography

David Eigenberg, an American actor, was born in Manhasset, New York, and grew up in Naperville, Illinois. He got his first recurring screen role on Homicide: Life on the Street, playing a copycat sniper, and later appeared on The Practice. He voiced Nermal in Garfield: The Movie and had a part in Daybreak (1993). His best known part is Steve Brady in HBO's Sex and the City. He returned for the 2008 film Sex and the City and its 2010 sequel, then for the revival And Just Like That... in 2022. In 2012 he took the role of Christopher Herrmann on NBC's Chicago Fire. On Broadway, he appeared in Six Degrees of Separation from 1990 to 1992 and in Take Me Out from 2003 to 2004.

Eigenberg made his Broadway debut as the "Hustler" in John Guare's Six Degrees of Separation, the show's original production, from 1990 to 1992.
