Jack Weston

Biography

Jack Weston was an American actor who usually played comic roles and worked steadily in film, television and theater. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he studied with Lee Strasberg in New York before settling into a long career as a character player. His comic roles included Please Don't Eat the Daisies (1960) and Cactus Flower (1969), while he occasionally took heavier parts, such as a schemer who helps terrorize a blind woman in Wait Until Dark (1967). Other films included The Cincinnati Kid (1965), The Thomas Crown Affair (1968), Gator (1976), Cuba (1979), The Four Seasons (1981), Dirty Dancing (1987), Ishtar (1987) and Short Circuit 2 (1988). He was nominated for a Golden Globe for The Ritz (1976) and a Tony for Woody Allen's The Floating Light Bulb (1981), and his stage work included Bells Are Ringing in 1956. He died in 1996.
