David Doyle

Biography

David Doyle was an American actor who became best known for playing John Bosley, the detective on Charlie's Angels, from 1976 to 1981, and was one of only two actors to appear in all 110 episodes. Born in Nebraska, he also worked in the theater, playing Orgon in a 1964 Milwaukee production of Richard Wilbur's Tartuffe translation at the Fred Miller Theater. His New York stage work included Here's Love, I Was Dancing, Beg, Borrow or Steal, and Something About a Soldier, along with a South Pacific revival. On television he had a guest role on The Patty Duke Show and was a guest on Match Game from 1977 to 1982. Beginning in 1991, he provided the voice of Grandpa Lou Pickles on the animated series Rugrats.
